Conversation
From challenging the patriarchy to navigating night sweats, understanding our reproductive health connects us to our bodies. It influences how we see the world, how we see ourselves—and even how others see us.
Action
In the face of an ongoing maternal health crisis, it’s necessary to discuss these topics openly, as they serve as a doorway for exploring the root causes and taking action to address them. Engaging more mindfully with these issues and using our resources wisely becomes paramount. Lack of education and a culture of shame and fear slows down our progress.
Education
We must start with an acknowledgement of reproductive justice issues affected by barriers based on race, class, religion, traditions, gender identity and sexual orientation. Through our educational arm, DTI, we teach through a reproductive justice lens at all of our trainings, prioritize mentorship and support for doulas, and cultivate a panel of educators united in their commitment to cultural humility, autonomy, collaboration, and intentional growth.
